I drove to the home feeling fairly buoyant  but within, let’s say, 30 seconds I felt very short tempered. I was given a garbled handover that left me clueless as to what had been going on and then sent out immediately to collect the petty cash from the office (a 15 minute drive away) which I had just driven past on my way in.

I could already predict, because of other arrangements, that I would be left with two of the children for the afternoon.  I am constantly the staff member looking after two kids at the moment.  They waited with varying degrees of good humour for someone to return with the car so they could go out.The wait that, through no ones fault,  got longer and longer.  I was quietly fuming for some reason.
And I had to work all day with Jeanette, who was on good form but she is off to celebrate her birthday with her boyfriend. On her birthday weekend last year she left her boyfriend and I left my wife…
I will tell the rest of that story and discuss the impact on the work another day but you can assume it’s raw…
I have no insight or wisdom today.
